The Festival of Motoring, the continent's largest industry-backed auto show, was held at the Kyalami Grand Prix circuit from August 26-28, 2022.

At the last edition three years ago, Volvo Car South Africa unveiled "The Beast", calling the XC90 the most extreme variant the country had ever seen. Now its electrified successor has been unveiled.

The "Beast 2.0" is a unique SUV based on the Volvo XC60 T8 R-Design AWD, which has been equipped with a host of carefully selected updates.

HEICO SPORTIV, the world's leading Volvo specialist from Germany, contributed some crucial modifications. For example, the XC60 T8's four-cylinder gasoline engine exhales through a sports exhaust system, releasing even more power. Thanks to flap control, the system, which is made of stainless steel, has different sound characters: from uncompromisingly beguiling to sporty and powerful to almost complete silence when only the rear-mounted electric motor is running in Pure mode.

The upgraded XC60 also stands out for its eye-catching exterior. The "Beast 2.0" is based on the R-Design trim level and is given an even sportier look by the HEICO body kit. The eight-piece kit consists of two front spoiler flaps (left/right), a lower air guide element, two upper air intakes (left/right), the rear apron with four integrated tailpipes in black chrome and a carbon inlay.
